| Ok so I just bought my first T a couple days ago and its a G. rosea.. I was wondering if its ok to let her substrate dry out or should I be keeping it moist.. Just a little of the top layer has dryed out but underneath is still moist.. | |

| Nope, rosie love it dry, dry, dry. I don't think the substrate underneath really matters. They hate walking on wet or even damp substrate. | |

| She would quickly show you her displeasure in that. Rosies have been known to climb the walls if their enclosure is too wet. | |

| I keep all of my brachys dry like the rosie. My h. villosella is on slightly damp substrate and seems to be doing great. Trading is always a great way to get new Ts. | |

| It may take her a bit to get use to the enclosure. Once she does, she'll calm down some. Mine doesn't climb anymore. Heck, she barely moves around. | |

| I have 4 rosies, and they are all slightly different, both my females sit on their pots if the substrate is slightly wet, they will not walk on it.... my redknees just create havoc in their tanks, tipped waterbowls over, dug holes everywhere, filled their house with soil, each time I tidy up, they do it all over again but all my brachys are dry, I tend to over spill the waterbowl when I tidy up, which gives them the moisture they need | |

| Welcome to the forum, keep your rosea and brachy's dry as a bone, every once in awhile I'll over flow a water dish, and I also let them go dry sometimes. The H. villosella keep slightly damp and the avic you will want to keep moist, spray in the avics enclosure 2-3 times a week depending on how much it dries out between spraying. | |
