When to use an ICU Empty
PostSubject: When to use an ICU   When to use an ICU EmptyTue 04 Aug 2009, 9:53 am

I'm concerned about my A. avic. She is very thin since her last molt,
hasn't eaten, and just looks frail. I bumped up her humidity and placed some of that plastic wrap stuff over the screen. I'm just worried about her.

Does it sound like I she needs an ICU?

An ICU could help it perk up. No reason not to try to let it rehydrate. just make sure you have a bottle cap in there for it to drink. Keep trying feeding until it eats. Maybe even disable the prey some.

How long ago was her last molt? My female C. fasciatum went 2 weeks after her molt before she decided it was time to eat something. Also do you have any B lats? I'd toss a big on in the cage with her and let it go, since they don't burrow like dubia it will be around if she changes her mind. I don't think putting her in an ICU could hurt though.

Well, Good News. I had her in ICU for 4 hours, I opened the lid to put a B. Lat in and she crawled out, onto the table, and back into her cage! LOL Then I offered her a B. Lat and she snatched it from me. I guess it worked? lol
