Well... I guess I have a rabbit now.

Ok, so I've babysat my friends rabbit a few times, and have pretty much fallen in love with him. She didn't take very good care of him, and he seems soo much happier here.

Well, I had him in my open top guinea pig cage, which is like 5 1/5 ft by 4 ft. I had it split in the middle, so the pigs could have one side, and he have the other, but he learned how to jump over the divider. So I have since removed the divider, and the pigs and rabbit get along great. Well... now he has figured out how to get out of the entire cage, and I find him just hoppin' around my room all the time. It was the cutest thing, this morning he climbed the ramp I have for my dog, and was in my bed when I woke up.

Anyways, I don't really want to modify the cage I have. I like it just like it is. So i've decided im just going to rabbit proof my room.

How exactly do I rabbit proof a room? He's doing very well using a litterbox so that is good. But, what about powercords and that sort of thing?

Anything you don't want chewed get it above rabbit level. You can get power cord covers, and they make a sour spray that you can spray on it as well.

I would have to agree with Bird Man here, anything you dont want eaten or chewed try to put out of reach,
I have known rabbits be very clever and use other things to get what they want....

the rabbit I used to have moved his food bowl, so that he could get a single blade of grass from the roof of his hutch,
he must have spent 2 hours trying for this grass, inching his bowl over so that he could reach it.....

I have and have had multiple Buns and they are so cool.
Ours free roams our Screened in Lanai and has her cage open at all times for food, water and potty breaks.

But yeah, keep all cords up high. Anything that can be knocked over, move it.


Oh and be careful not to swing open your door too fast when going in haha

Just secure cords to the wall and put any cords near something..Behind it. close of your bed (UNDERNEATH)

And if it starts chewing at things. Spray it with a certain spray you can buy for dogs. Leaves a nasty taste (NO SMELL FOR YOU THOUGH) And it'll all work out. Post some more pictures soon!

well, this rabbit is a male. And I guess he has taken a fancy to my arm. I asked his previous owner and she said he has never humped anything before, but now he is humpin like crazy lol.

He has free range of my room now... and can get into my bed... and I don't very much like waking up to a rabbit tryin to get with my arm...........


anything I can do about this? Maybe at night I could put him in his small cage.

Yeah just put him in the cage. Our Rabbit used to just stay outside 24/7 and she did like it, but she got an attitude lol She thought she could do whatever she wanted. So I found that with her, putting her in the cage every night or just occasionally helped.


Oh and I think I may be getting that other Rescue Bunny I was telling you about.
