Ok folks heres my first post on the new forum. Got a 3 1/4" Nhandu chromatus at the show yesterday and I have a care question for it. I know they need a little bit more humidity than my other T's, no biggie there, I got that part covered, but what about the substrate? Should it be kept bone dry or a little moist? I done a search on care sheets and came up with both...bone dry/moist. Just thought I would get your guys opinions on it.

I would keep it generally dry, but maybe 3-5" around the water dish keep it wet there, and if she stays around that area, i would mist everywhere, but my chromatus was fine with dry with a nice wet waterdish

I keep mine a tad bit moist. Every time I fill a water dish I let it over flow and I mist 2-3 times a week and the substrate kinda stays a bit moist and no one seems to be complaining.

I keep mine dry. She is quite the docile one in the day time. Can pick her up and she just goes limp. At night, however, she stalks everything- even people walking by!

Lol...my little girl is quickly becoming my favorite T. She is such an aggresive feeder, and fast...I never realized N. chromatus were so fast until I got her. Crix simply dont have a chance to run, and sometimes she will snatch them right off of the tongs. And I dont know why...but she constantly poops in her water dish. So far the only way I have seen that she will take water is by drinking it off the side of the tank when I mist it. Without a doubt she is the most fascinating T I have ever owned.
